Rocío Dúrcal

María de los Ángeles de las Heras Ortiz, known as Rocío Dúrcal, was a Spanish singer and actress who, after teaming with Mexican songwriter Juan Gabriel in 1976, became one of the most beloved interpreters of ranchera music despite never being Mexican herself. Crowned the "Reina de las Rancheras," her albums of Juan Gabriel songs sold millions across Mexico, Spain and Latin America and helped keep traditional ranchera vital through the 1980s.
