Sabicas
Agustín Castellón Campos, known as Sabicas, was a Pamplona-born Romani guitarist who became one of flamenco's first true international concert virtuosos, relocating to New York and building a solo career independent of accompanying singers or dancers. Related to Ramón Montoya through his mother's family and shaped early on by Montoya's style, Sabicas went on to encourage a young Paco de Lucía toward original composition during an early US tour.
