Patrick Houston grew up on Memphis's North Side and, as the older brother of Three 6 Mafia's Juicy J, became one of the Hypnotize Minds label's defining voices in his own right. His flat, drawling, hustler's-eye storytelling on records like "Chickenhead" (2001) captured a specific Memphis street cadence that's been cited as a direct influence on later Southern rappers, including Gucci Mane.
