Peso Plumaphoto: villa records méxico · cc by 3.0

Luis Ernesto Vega Carvajal, who performs as Neton Vega, is a singer-songwriter from La Paz, Baja California Sur, who first made his name behind the scenes, co-writing corridos tumbados for Peso Pluma's 2023 album 'Genesis' (including 'Rubicon' and 'La People') before stepping out as a performer in his own right. Breaking through across 2024-25 with hits like 'Si No Quieres No' and the Peso Pluma collaboration 'Morena,' he pairs the requinto-driven storytelling of regional Mexican music with reggaeton and urban production, reflecting a generation raised on both corridos and rap. His 2025 debut album 'Mi Vida, Mi Muerte' reached the upper tier of the Billboard 200.

Vega came up inside Peso Pluma's orbit, co-writing songs for Peso's breakthrough 2023 album 'Genesis' before the two recorded together; the fusion of traditional corrido storytelling with trap-era swagger and glossy, chart-facing production that Peso Pluma rode to global fame is the template Vega both helped build and now works in.

Natanael Cano2020s · Corridos tumbados / Regional Mexican / Trap

Vega belongs to the wave of young artists who followed Natanael Cano, the musician widely credited with launching corridos tumbados by grafting trap and hip-hop attitude onto regional Mexican guitars; Cano's genre-blurring, and his later embrace of reggaeton and urbano, maps directly onto Vega's own movement between corridos and urban tracks.

Ariel Camacho2010s · Sierreño / Corrido / Regional Mexican

Vega has named Ariel Camacho among the musica mexicana pioneers he grew up on; Camacho's spare, requinto-led sierreno, built on a nimble twelve-string guitar and upright bass, is the acoustic tradition Vega leans on whenever he sets the urban production aside for a straight romantic corrido.
