Boosie Badazz
Torence Hatch, known as Boosie Badazz (formerly Lil Boosie), emerged from Baton Rouge's Concentration Camp collective in the late 1990s and became Louisiana street rap's defining voice through the 2000s, pairing Southern cadences with unflinching, autobiographical accounts of poverty, violence, and incarceration. Hits like "Wipe Me Down" and "Set It Off" made him a regional legend well before a 2009–2014 imprisonment turned him into a martyr figure for a generation of younger Baton Rouge rappers. That confessional, no-filter template became a direct touchstone for artists like Kevin Gates and YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
