Antonio Aguilar

Born on a rural hacienda in Zacatecas, Antonio Aguilar signed to Musart Records in 1950 and became 'El Charro de México,' recording over 150 albums and starring in more than 120 films that built his charro persona into a symbol of Mexican rural identity. His grand, orchestrated rancheras and corridos, often built around horsemanship and honor, made him one of the best-selling and most influential figures in the ranchera and corrido tradition.
