Player One
Player One (Player 1) was a one-off studio project from Australian songwriters Russell Dunlop and Bruce Brown, built entirely around a single 1979 novelty disco single, "Space Invaders," that turned the sounds of the arcade game into a dancefloor bassline. The track was a genuine hit in Australia and became an unlikely footnote in house music history when its bassline was interpolated into Jesse Saunders's foundational "On & On."
