Oskido
Oscar "Oskido" Mdlongwa talked his way behind the decks at Johannesburg's Razzmatazz club in the early 1990s and, slowing American house records to a tempo township dancefloors could move to, became one of kwaito's founding DJs. Through the label he co-founded, Kalawa Jazmee Records, he shepherded acts from Boom Shaka to Mafikizolo and, decades later, paired his signature Afro-house sound with amapiano producers like Kabza De Small on 2019's Akhiwe, helping bridge kwaito-era house to the amapiano generation.
