Manuel Molina
Manuel Ortega Vargas, known as Manuel Molina, was a 19th-century Gitano cantaor from Jerez de la Frontera remembered above all for a siguiriya style — the 'cambio por seguiriya de Manuel Molina' — that entered the shared repertoire of later Jerez singers, including Manuel Torre. A cattle trader by trade, his relative wealth reportedly let him travel widely and patronize other singers of his generation; he predates commercial recording entirely.
