Formed in Tijuana's Colonia Libertad in 1961, Los Moonlights became the city's first rock band to land a full-length record played on local radio, a breakthrough that helped mark Tijuana as an early center of Mexican rock. The group moved between rock and roll and romantic balada across a discography of more than 65 albums, with "De Rodillas Ante Ti" becoming their best-known single. More than sixty years and dozens of lineup changes later, the band was reportedly still performing as of 2023.
