Leo Dan
Leo Dan (Leopoldo Dante Tévez) was an Argentine singer-songwriter who rose out of the early-1960s "nueva ola" wave alongside Palito Ortega and Leonardo Favio before settling into the plainspoken, melody-first romantic ballad that made him a fixture across Latin America and Mexico, where he also recorded rancheras with mariachi. His songs — simple, direct, built for a lump in the throat — were covered constantly by his peers and, decades later, resurfaced to new audiences when "Te He Prometido" scored a scene in Alfonso Cuarón's Roma.
