Beny Moré
Beny Moré, "El Bárbaro del Ritmo," was Cuba's most beloved mid-century bandleader and vocalist, moving effortlessly between son, mambo, guaracha, and bolero with an improvisational, full-throated vocal style that made him a touchstone for virtually every Cuban singer who followed. His big-band recordings of the 1940s and 50s remain landmarks of the golden age of Cuban popular music.
